New AG education program brings dairy farming to your classroom!

This BRAND NEW program, meets the following National Standards:

  • Social Studies – Aligns with the National Council for the Social Studies standard of PRODUCTION, DISTRIBUTION, AND CONSUMPTION. Social Studies programs should include experiences that provide for the study of how people organize for the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and service. www.socialstudies.org
  • Science – Aligns with the National Science Standards standard of LIFE SCIENCE (content standard C). Science programs should develop the students understanding of the structure and function in living systems; reproduction and heredity; regulation and behavior; populations and ecosystems; diversity and adaptations of organisms. www.nap.edu

Journey of Milk

The Journey of Milk is designed for use in upper elementary school classrooms to introduce students to dairy farms, the steps in producing and processing milk, interesting facts about cows and the dairy industry, and the nutritional value of dairy foods. Includes 30 student handouts and teacher guide.

Colorado Dairy Farm-to-School Program

Customized for Colorado, this 30 minute classroom presentation and lesson brings local dairy producers into the classroom to share their experiences and to educate students on how milk gets “from cow to you.” Please call to schedule the program for your classroom.
