Eating three servings of milk, cheese or yogurt is a wise choice for people of all ages and is consistent with the recommendations of MyPyramid and the 2005 Dietary Guidelines for Americans.
Research shows that most Americans are eating only half of the recommended three servings of dairy each day. In addition to calcium, dairy provides eight essential nutrients, including phosphorus, potassium, protein, vitamins D, A and B12, riboflavin and niacin (niacin equivalents).
