Fuel Up to Play 60 – What is it?
Fuel Up to Play 60 is an in-school nutrition and physical activity program launched by National Dairy Council (NDC) and National Football League, in collaboration with United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and is provided locally by Western Dairy Association and the Denver Broncos. The program empowers youth to take actions to improve nutrition and physical activity at their school and for their own health.
The program encourages youth to consume nutrient-rich foods (low-fat and fat-free dairy foods, fruits, vegetables and whole grains) and achieve at least 60 minutes of physical activity every day. For more information on how to join check out FuelUptoplay60.com .
How It Works – Fuel Up to Play 60 in Action
Fuel Up to Play 60 responds to real-world needs in today’s schools with wellness tools that complement – not compete with – the academics-focused environment. The program’s design allows youth and schools to determine which tools and resources best help meet each school’s wellness goals.
