Improving school nutrition is our goal. WDA offers a myriad of resources for schools to assist in establishing and maintaining a healthy nutrition environment; an environment where students learn and practice life-long quality nutrition behaviors. National Dairy Council and Western Dairy Association developed materials are based on the latest nutrition and education research. Our curriculum has been reviewed by nutrition and education experts as well as classroom tested.

Butter Recipe Activity – This activity provides students with an opportunity to make their own butter and explore the science behind its transformation.
Ice Cream Activity – This activity provides students with an opportunity to make their own ice cream and explore the science behind this “cool” treat.

Teaching lessons
3-Every-Day Dairy Lessons. Originally written by the Integrated Nutrition Education Program and used in Denver Public Schools, these downloadable lessons teach students the valuable health benefit of dairy foods. Through the incorporation of simple recipes into the lessons, students learn the value of including dairy foods in snacks and meals. There are three lessons per grade level, K-1 through 5th grade. All lessons have been aligned with the Colorado State Standards and are available in both English and Spanish.
