June at Tigges Farm

June is a full-sized fiberglass Holstein that helps us educate the community about the work our dairy farmers do every day. She spends her time visiting schools, fairs, festivals and community events, like at Tigges Farm. June allows for consumers to have an up close and personal experience learning about dairy farming and teaches how to hand milk a dairy cow.

The past two weekends, June, WDA’s animatronic cow visits Tigges Farm in Greeley, Colorado. Tigges Farm is family owned and operated farm offering many agriculture education opportunities to its community. Each fall the farm is transformed into a large pumpkin patch drawing visitors from across the state. While visiting the patch visitors stopped by the farm’s Farm Equipment Museum, sample fresh roasted chilies and for the past two stopped by and milked June! Our staff was on site with June sharing dairy’s story and giving visitors a chance to milk a life-size cow. Kids, parents and others learned about how milk travels from the cow to their table.

Missed June at Trigges Farm? You can stop by and see her at the Children’s Museum of Denver’s Trick or Treat Street on October 27 and 28 from 9am – 6pm.
